Friendly locals

I just got back from Red Rock and really enjoyed my experience in the poker room. I am a small stakes player and played in the $1/$2 cash game. The players and dealers seemed much friendlier than other experiences I have had on the strip. In face the game had an almost home game feel with a lot of joking around/drinking etc. The play was average, very straight forward ABC poker. Typical bad players (calling too much) so just be patient and you will win.

Interesting observation. I tend to agree with you. The "local's rooms" like Red Rock can have a very home-game sort of vibe. There is a good chance a lot of the players at any particular table will have had a lot of previous experience playing against each other, especially compared to the strip poker rooms, which are dominated by tourists.

  2. I'm going to try and get out to Red Rock on my next trip...i drink alot when in vegas so i don't rent a car and it costs alot to be taking cabs everywhere...but we took a free shuttle to a few off strip casinos last trip and will take the free shuttle out there next trip...
