Fun At Binion's

I played in Binion's Poker Open Event #6 NL. It's a pretty good event with 30 minutes levels for a low buy in $150 with about 150 people. It allowed for plenty play for the cost and the slow rising blinds. The competition ranged from easy to solid players.

The funniest thing happened on level one. I don't remember the exact play by play but the hand so funny that I asked the other players on the table do make sure it did happen. The board had a Q 10 9 J and a river K. It was a total rainbow board. Two players left on the river. The first player bets all in on the river and says he made a mistake and didn't want to bet all in. The second player calls with a 10 9 and of course the first player shows a A for the straight. The second player slams his fist threw the felt and crumples up the cards. The whole table laughes and the tournament director (Jennifer?) was nice about it.

My tournament ended the sixth level getting caught making a move to steal the blinds and antes.

  1. I really wish I was around to play in these, great series!

And yes, that was most likely Jennifer, nice how she handled the situation.

  2. Thanks for the response stray. This is my first ever post on any site just a long time listener and first time call. It was a solid tournament. I basically played only three hands the entire tournament for 7 levels. I don't want to bore you with the details. I just was happy with the blind levels and time for each round.
