On Tuesday I switched hotels from Vdara to the Wynn. I checked in right about noon, grab a quick lunch and then took a nap. I woke up about 3:30 and headed over to the Rio for my Main Event, the $2500 WSOP Razz Event #33.
It didn't go well. I had the 1983 Main Event Champion Tom McEvoy (Had played with Tom before in a tournament in California) to my right and Marco Traniello to my left. 3 of the other players were RAZZ specialist, one older guy and one guy was put in the tournament by his buddies. I started off well and in level 1 I was over $11K (Starting was 7.5K), but I went ICE COLD. By level 4 I was short and basically got eliminated after the dinner break by Marco where we got the money in on 5th when I had a made 8-7 and he had A-4-6-6-K. 6th braught a brick for me and a 2 for him, and he catches a 5 on 7th to eliminate me. It was fun. I would play in it again.
I went back to the Wynn and hopped into a 2-5 NL game. Only bad 2-5 session of the trip. Lost $450 in about 4 hours of play.

Trip- Tournaments- Lost $4120, Cash- $1,960 Profit

On Wednesday I got up and went over to the Encore to play in Day 1C of the $550 Wynn Classic. I started out fast and had doubled my stack after the first level and half. I was playing great and finally felt like this was going to be a great tournament. I kept chipping up and my stack kept growing. I loved my table draw and I had chipped up from starting of $15K to $70K after 5-6 levels. Then I got a table change. I actually won a big hand before the break when I flop a set against a guy who rivered top 2, so I had $88K at the dinner break and $38K was the average. In the 80 minute break I did everything I was suppose, eat, relax, check the advancing stacks from the first two days. But on the first level after the break I got involved in hand that I was not suppose to and lost $28K (About $26K too much). After that I was ice cold. I lasted until the last level of the night (Around 11PM) when Erica Sands (David Sands' wife and she finished in the top 27 of the Main Event a few years ago) knocked me out. I got deep but just not deep enough and it was back to back tournaments of getting knocked out by one half of a famous poker playing couple. I went over to the Venetian and hopped in a cash game (2-5 No Limit was the game of choice of course). I played for about 2 hours and made a quick $450. I basically played pots against one guy and spent most of my time reading twitter.
Wednesday 6/19 Results- Tournament- Lost $550, Cash- $450 Profit
Trip- Tournament- Lost $4670, Cash Games- $2,410 Profit
When I woke up Thursday the plan was to play the WSOP Daily DeepStack. I thought about the $1500 Shootout WSOP event. Tournaments at Aria and Caesars also crossed my mind. I decided I want to do something different. I finally decide to take a trip to downtown and play in the $300 Binions PLO tournament. I get to Binions and the turnout is HORRIBLE. I decide to play anyway. Wrong choice. The tournament had 4-5 tables. One guy gets knocked out at our table and I get knocked out at the end of level 3. No reason to rebuy. After a quick walk around downtown I go back to the Wynn to play 2-5NL and watch game 7 of the NBA Finals. That was a good session for me. In the first 2 hours I doubled my stack from $1500 to $3000. IT was great when one lady sat down with $300, watched my count out 18 $100 bills ask me how long I had been playing and I said "oh about 90 minutes and he face was priceless. She quickly moved to a 1-3 NL table. I played another 90 minutes without seeing a whole lot and finished the session up $900. I realize LVMichael is playing at the Mirage so I go over there to see what is up. I sat in his 1-2NL game with him and his buddy for maybe 10 minutes and we decide to head over to the Rio and play at the WSOP. Sounded good for me. They jumped into games right away and after a quick bit to eat and a nice talk with Brian Grayson I hopped into a 2-5NL game. It was great. One drunk local wanting to give his money away. This guy want to do $100 splash pots. So I am up $350 before the last 2 hands are played out. It was about the same time LVMichael walked up. The first hand I take down a pot where I made a $120 profit with AK when I have top pair and top kicker on a 4 card flush board and correctly called the drunk guy. On the next hand he raises again and declares he wants to play a big pot and I look at 22 and I tell him if I hit the flop hard we can play that big pot. Flop is Ah, Qh, 2h. He bets out $35. I call. 4d is the turn. He bets $100. I call. River is a 7c. He throws $500 out and says all-in and while he is doing this says something to me about his hand and flips over a J of diamonds. I have a smirk on my face now and say call. Trip 2's. His other card was the Kh he throw the card at the dealer and yelled why can't a heart come and stormed off. I was going to tell him he had to at least show the bluff card. I turn to Mike and say grab some racks I am ready. $1,200 profit at the Rio thanks to the drunk local.
Thursday results- Tournaments- Lost $300, Cash Games- Won $2,150
Trip Results-
Tournaments- Lost $4,970 Cash Games- Won $4,560

On Friday I woke up and had to switch hotels for the last 2 nights of the trip. I must say that the Wynn is my favorite hotel to stay at and going to planet hollywood is a bit of a let down afterwards.

Part 3 to come soon.
