great fun at IP mixed game but frustration at Omaha-8 at Venetian

Just got back from trip to Vegas. Played a bunch of cash games at Caesars, Flamingo, Venetian and IP. Did Ok, grinding out wins most days and hitting a few high hand bonuses.

But the best session was playing the $3-6 mixed game at the IP. It was a blast playing all those crazy games, and the best being 3-2-1-Omaha! If you ever get a chance to lay I recommend it for beginners and experienced players alike. Staff and other players are helpful about the games and it is a nice casual atmosphere. Ended up winning at it only because I hit four Aces on the 321 game and had a lot of money in the pot.

The down side of the trip was playing (or should I say trying to play) Omaha-8 at the Venetian. I showed up ther to play at about noon on two occasions, and both times the $8-16 limit game was going but I was able to get on the table. games was typical with lots of regular/locals playing. About an hour into play the floor manager comes over ans says that they are opening the $15-30 game and that 8 out of the 10 current players were on the list to move. When I asked if they had players to back fill this game the said yes. So I decided not to move and stay here. Well after they moved all the players and called ones to fill the 8-16 game what a surprise no one came to the table. the names were hours old and the players had left. So now they closed the 8-16 game and there were no seats available at the 15-30 game.

A few days later I tried it againa and this time all the locals complained that the 15-30 was not open (only the 8-16), so after a few minutes they decided to open it and again did not have any players to back fill on the 8-16 game and what a surprise closed it! Generally a poorly run room.
