Playing with Locals at the Orleans

Maybe I am being too harsh, but I was really looking forward to playing at the Orleans. I have been playing poker for 30 years and have played all over. I am strictly a low level recreational player. I got my first bad vibe when I went to put my name on the list and waited in line. While waiting in line, 2 or 3 guys game up and told the lady what game they wanted to be put in and when I said I was here for the same thing, she said they play here all the time. I let that pass and after 20 minutes I got into a 4-8 game. The game never seemed to get any flow because half of the people were waiting for other tables. At one point we only had 5 people playing as other players had left the table checking on when they might get into other games.

The dealer kept asking for more players, but no one seemed to be paying attention. There seemed to be a tournament going on all the time there and I think that kept a lot of the management busy for some reason.

I played several sesions there and never did really see any improvement, even during slow times like early morning.
