Great Memorial day weekend.
Arrived at MGM ~1030 pm 5/22, and recieved
first hand of $1-2 NL by 11pm. Off to a
great start, flopping trips with little pairs
after AA failed to raise pre-flop, and then
got stacked, twice. Played for ~ 21/2 hours
up to $675, before donating back ~$150.
Friday, played ~7 hours in the morning/early
afternoon prior to UFC weighins. Got
to chat with Razzo. Very little variance
the whole time, ending up ~$50.
Friday night played some $2-5NL, and donated
about $200.
Saturday $1-2NL for about 6 hours, went
very well. I think I went 5 out of 6 with
AK flopping tptk, and had KK vs. QQ/JJ, with
both holding up for nice pots.
Sunday: recovered from ~4 hours at Studio
54 at Tito Ortiz's after-party (I am pretty
sure I was ~15 yrs older than anyone else in
his group). Played some $1-2 for a small
profit at MGM, then walked over to Hooters.
One table going, relative aggressive table,
with small buyins. Got bored quickly and tried
the Tropicana. One table also. I posted in
the 3 seat. Grumpy old dude (god) was in 2
seat. He limped, and I raised to $14 with AK.
Man, he got pissed. folded around to god...
he finally calls. Flop is QJ10, and god
says "see how you like these apples" and goes
allin for ~$90 (~30 in pot)
"I like it a lot"...his Q10 don't boat, and
he is on tilt. 2 orbits later, I am bb, he
is sb. Now he had chopped the previos orbit
while in the bb. He looks at his cards, and
I ask "are you going to chop?"....he slams
out $15. I have KK........oops he is felted
again. Up about $400 in 2 hours, and time
to head for the airport.

(UFC was great. Studio 54 was like a one
night fountain of youth).

  1. Good report. 15 yrs older than everyone in Tito's group- what are you 50?

  2. @Clem2754

    A relatively young 53

  3. Must be to hang out with the UFC crowd. I once walked through Mandalay Bay while a UFC event was going on at Mandalay. I had slacks and a dress shirt on, and one of the dealers made the comment that I would be better off going someone else. I was going to be out of place that night.

Your dealer made an error. While y ou would have overdressed
for actual UFC, you had to be reasonable dressed up to get
to the after-parties I have been fortunate enough to observe.

    I am reasonable fit, know a lot of the guys, so I don't get hassled;
however, were I more chunky, then I could not blend in, regardless
    of who I knew.

(sorry, I know I am way off topic from poker here).
