just got back from vegas. played 4 tourneys, the 11am @ sahara, and the 9am @monte carlo 3 times. sahara is good value ($62) 20mins blinds which makes a difference to 15 like the MC. 59 entered this, competition is generally poor, but there are some good players too. I missed final table by 2 when my kk lost to a 5-3 off on the river!! not pleased! this pays 6 places with 1st around $1000.
the MC tourney is about the same standard, someone even folded on the bb when he had the option to check!! (he was later at the final table!) best i done in 3 goes was 4th, they only pay 3! 1st was about $850.
played a few 2-4 cash games also at the MC, good fun, good dealers, and good high hand jackpots, ( i hit 4 7s in less than 24hrs!! picking up an extra $606), everyone is friendly, and all staff very polite. there is also some money to be made for patient players who can get a read on others.
