Softer than I expected

Arrived late 3/12/2012 to the Wynn. After check in we played about 2 hours at their room. Won a few hands but was really just feeling out the competition.

Tuesday morning walked to the Venetian and got into a 1/3 game. I felt the poker was very soft and after playing a few hours was ahead about $250.00 and my wife was even. On the way back to the Wynn we stopped at TI but they only had one table so we went back to the Wynn. Played about 4hours in a game that alternated from tough to soft and won about 450.00.

Wednesday took the bus downtown for $7.00. Most other times have rented a car but since we were on the strip did not see the reason to rent one. Started at Golden Nugget and played with a table of fish. Won about $300. In a few hours. Would have won more but everyone seemed to fold to a $15.00 bet. Walked to Binions where we played in a seemingly new room. It was smaller than I remember. Got on a table with several regulars and proceed to relive them of some retirement dollars. That night back at the Wynn played a few hours and won a few pots, nothing spectacular .
Friday 3/15/2012. After checking out at noon we stored luggage and since we had a late plane went to the poker room for one las run. It was the softest game I have ever played in. You could seealmostever flop for $3.00 and never more than a $15.00 raise. I hit numerous pots off three drunks and ended cashing out $1800.00.

All and all it was a very profitable trip. I am described by my home casino as a TAG. This style of play held me in good steed for here wher I raised got several callers. My best experience was callin an all in bet for $298.00 with KK and watching the fish (oh yes he was) turn over AQ for a pair of queens. I racked in that pot and realized it was getting close to go to the airport and not wanting to press my luck bid adieu to
SIN CITY.

I will say I found the poker very very soft I was able to see the flop for $3.00. And won most of them by raising after the flop. At my home casino it is usually raised to $20.00 before the flop. I did learn one thing .... You can't raise a fish out of a pot. Lucky for me most of the time I had a solid hand and won the pot. My wife ended up winning about $500.00 ( shedding not have the luck i had but is a solid player)

I have played enough hours of poker to know this is not typical but when you get the cards to play and the quality of players I was seated with you feel like a shark in a fish tank.

I was also surprised by the play of he locals at Golden Nugget but there are enough casinos around the country that they are not going to rape an inspecting traveler.

A fish in Vegas is a fish at home if there town has a casino.
