went to vegas for 10 days on the 25th of october. got there about 9pm wednesday night, staying in wynn so went down for a couple of hours to check out the poker room, was very immpressed, nice room, very good standard of dealers and the hottest cocktail waitresses i've ever seen. played 1-3 no limit for a few hours till i got tired, made about $200.

got up fresh thursday morning ready to play the $300 tourney in wynn, 29 runners and after doubling through early with aa vs qq i never looked back and went on to win it, $2900 a very nice start.

took friday off so id be ready for the big game of the trip, the $500 in the venetian. 75 runners and the best starting stack and structure anywhere in vegas. the poker room is a bit open for my liking but it is very nice. played well early and built my starting stack of 10k up to about 18k.
then lost a big pot when my jj was no match for some guy's ak, that was a 15k pot and i was fuming. went for a walk, calmed down and knuckled back down to it, ended up at the final table 2nd in chips. 3 handed i ran my tptk into another guy's 2 pair and that was that. 3rd place and another nice cash of 5k.

had not planned any other tourneys but ended up in binions on the monday for their $600 ultimate poker challenge tourney. it was good to play in the place where poker began if only for sentimental reasons. was on the table with chris bigler and "miami" john cernuto which was pretty cool. 65 runners or so and it was a good structure again. got down to the last 12 and was a in a monster pot with 99 on a a235 board against a guy with qj (he had a flush draw) he hit a queen on the river the cripple me. if i win that pot i have nearly 3 average stacks with 11 people left. harsh with a 14k first prize but thats the way it goes.

didnt play any more tourneys after that, too disgusted but went down to check out bellagio on wednesday night. was waiting absolutely ages to get into a 2-5 game and they have no screens with a waiting list just some guy with a pen and paper, not very immpresive. bought in for $300 and doubled it up to $600 in about an hour and then left. i liked the atmosphere there though and it is probably where i will play most of my poker the next time im in vegas.

all in all made just over $7,000 so was very pleased. cannot wait to go back next summer for the wsop, if it goes well vegas may well become my permanent home.
