Wedding bells in Vegas

Gambling totals are only approximate and cumulative between the wife and I

Saturday:
Wife and I get into Vegas at about 3:00 pm get luggage and head to the hotel (Ballys). Am pleasantly surprised that the room is indeed 0$'s on a comp and the $20 trick gets us upgraded to a Jr. Suite in the remodeled North tower and a whole bunch of coupon type things. Room is actually pretty nice and is very large with a decent view to the South Strip. Dinner happens at PF Changs and it is really good. We both head for the IP and plop ourselves into a 2/4 limit game complete with a group who have no idea what they are doing and some guy who thinks he is Rod Stewart. Drinks are coming fast and furiously as are the bad beats. We decide a hot fudge sundae is going to be a better idea from there on and stumble next door to get a sundae and somehow make it back to the room in one piece. Sundae is wonderful. Sleep...

Sunday:
We get up relatively early and go down to the Paris Breakfast Buffet which was very good and not too expensive since we had a coupon for it as well! I find a 2/4 game somewhere (OK I don't actually remember where. I think it was at the IP or Ballys or ?), Wife takes a nap and later we go down to Mandalay Bay to meet up with Wife's HS friend who is in town to get married. I play more poker there (actually a pretty good 2/4 game with a 1/2 kill for two winning hands in a row), we all head down to Freemont street, I play poker at the Nugget, drinking occurs and we play blackjack where I lose miserably and wife runs hot like the sun. Back to Ballys and honestly I am ready to sleep.

Monday:
I, as usual, wake up too early so I head over to the IP for their Aces cracked games from 8:00 to 11:00. Game is OK but not great. One guy sits at table not knowing about the aces cracked promo and first hand he has his aces cracked by 4 or a kind. Two jackpot hands at the same time. Meet wife, we play for a little while at the Flamingo and then head over to Ellis Island to meet friends for dinner and drinking. Have a great dinner, go back to Ballys and hang around in the sports book drinking like 20 year olds and finally call it a night both drunker than skunks but had a good time

Tuesday:
Wedding Day. I head to the IP early and then to the Bally's room after that. Wife gets ready all afternoon while I wait until the end to take a quick shower and be ready to go to the wedding. Being a guy is good! We head over to the hotel where the wedding is taking place and enjoy the ceremony and a nice dinner after that. Everyone heads to Mandalay Bay where the Bride and Groom want to get matching tattoos to celebrate the day. I end up heading over to Excalibur and find the easiest 2/4 limit game I have seen in several years! Seriously, this is the best 2/4 limit table I may have ever seen. I had to shoe exactly one hand in about 45 minutes and was actually able to bluff most of the pots I won and not show. This never and I mean never happens at home. OK, almost never. :-) End the night playing blackjack where I run hot as the sun and Wife just hangs in there. A couple of guys from TX are at the table who are in town for the upcoming National Finals Rodeo who are a hoot. It was a fun table and a good day.

Wednesday:
We head to Ellis Island for a late breakfast and then back to Ballys. I head out searching for a limit game and play a little 3/6 at Ballys while wife naps. I think I cashed out dead even after a couple of hours. Our coupon book has two free passes to go up in the Paris Eiffel tower. We go up there at sunset and it is kind of neat. We see a fountain show and check out the views and head back down ready to meet a friend for dinner. We meet up with friend and have a nice visit while I eat far too much Sushi and crab legs. The sushi place was OK (Todai in Planet Hollywood) but we have had much better other times. It was totally my fault for picking a buffet sushi place but it was close and we didn't rent a car to get away from the strip this trip. It was OK but not great. Friend wants to check out the game at going at Planet Hollywood. Wife and I head across the street and watch several fountain shows before heading back to call it an early night since we leave the next day.

Thursday:
I once again play in the IP early aces cracked game and get out of there early since the game broke early and we had a friend to meet for lunch. Go back to Ballys, out friend meets us and we head to NYNY for Pizza. It is surprisingly good pizza. We head over to Excalibur and I play a little 2/4 while wife and our friend drink and play 1 cent video poker. I did get into a fairly heated argument with one of the other players at the game when he pull the I want to see the hand crap on me. I asked him, in a not very polite way, if he thought I was cheating and we argued for a bit back and forth about the reason for the rule. I probably shouldn't have picked the only guys at the table who looked like he might have had a chance of kicking my ass but I figured it would be a bit of a fun way to stir things up a bit. It was fun and I got to make my point. We head to the airport catch the plane back to Billings and below zero temps.

Pokers: -$50

All in all a fun trip and it was nice to be away with the wife for awhile. Wedding was nice seeing friends was nice and the poker was fun.
