What a waste!
I have visited the Wynn poker room since it opened and have thought very highly of the place. In fact it was recommended by a good friend of mine and he plays poker for a living. My buddy use to play only at the Wynn and would brag about the games, as well as the comps. I stopped by several times during my last 4 trips to vegas and let me tell you the place is dead!!!. Steve Wynn should ask the person in charge of the poker room as to what happened. Venetian poker room however has grown and the poker room to beat in vegas. Mr Wynn do yourself a favor and close your poker room or get rid of your entire management team and start from scratch. I am sure the economy has had some impact but then again how can you explain Venetian poker room.
I hear Caesars Palace has slowed way down also...We stop at the Wynn right after it first open and just have not be back,we stay mid strip most the time and its just a little out of the way to go there just for that casino...if the two new casinos ever get build across the road for the Wynn i think that would help foot traffic for them...
The room is so small you'd hardly miss it.
I like Caesars since it's near that night club and you get bachelor parties and drunk people later at night just handing out their money.
I have to defend the Wynn poker room. I play 2/5 NL. On my August trip, the MGM would have 2 tables while Wynn had 4. If MGM had zero tables, Wynn would have 1 or 2. And they were VERY good tables!
The Wynn room is one of the best rooms for cash games in Vegas. The room pretty much always has 1/3NL and 2/5NL games going and they are generally very good games. It is my favorite place to play cash on the strip and my favorite place to stay on the strip. Remember bigger is not always better. TI is another example of that. That room is smaller, and has great management as does the Wynn. I agree that the Venetian is a great room. I also like MGM.
