I tried to embed the game as flash video, but seems like this forum doesn't allow this.

  1. ...nothing there (maybe I'd have to 'join') - not going to do that though...

  2. This may seem like a flame, but I pretty much hate how you played the hand until the river.

I'm not in love with a min raise after a late position limp, especially with a hand as weak as 10-9 offsuit. The min-raise gives both blinds decent odds to call and your hand just isn't that good. If you are going to raise, I'd go more like 120 to 150 preflop. But honestly, I don't hate just limping or even folding there. Your hand just isn't that strong. Besides, people play too much crap early in tournaments, so you will likely have a better spot to put money into the pot.

On the flop, the villain donk bets 1/2 pot into you, the preflop raiser, on a jack high board with 3 spades. You have no pair and the only the 10 of spades, which is the 4th nut flush draw. Why are you ever calling there? You are either behind or you have a draw may not be any good. If your draw is in fact any good, you will almost never get any value from a worse hand, if a 4th spade hits the board. Since you were the preflop raiser, you could consider a bluff-raise but I think that is way too high variance a play this early in a tournament.

After you call the flop, your opponent checks a Q on the turn. This is honestly a great card for you. It puts an overcard to the flop out and it gives you an open ended straight draw. Once your opponent checks, you can be almost certain that he does not have a flush. Instead, he is more likely to have a hand like a pair of jacks. So, since a flopped flush is possible and an overcard to the jack hit, you are in a perfect spot to bluff at the pot. Even if you are called, you have outs -- the straight is more likely to be good than the flush but even your flush could be good if you hit it. So, now is the time to bet and try to steal the pot.

On the river, an offsuit 6 hits and your opponent checked again. I like the check back on your part. You could try to steal the pot with a bet. But given the line you have taken up until now, a bet just isn't believable. So, you are going to get called way too often to bluff in that spot. That said, if you had bet the turn and the same 6 hit the river, firing a second barrel would work a lot more often. So, had you bet turn, I'd fire again on the river.

  3. @Dap Poker Nothing flame about your post. The hand you described was the worst hand I played in the whole tournament [yes it's a whole tournament session reply] and the actions you suggested were undoubtedly the correct actions to make. Check the whole SNG tournament to see what I meant by Maniac Decisions; that's the whole point from my post.

I also have just finished this one and excited to share it..
