2-5 blinds table.
Fairly standard play.

Effective stack $700

Villain (Old man coffee) in the small blind makes it $25 heads up, wake up with AA 3bet to $100 villain calls.

Flop : K 7 2 (Rainbow) pot:~200

Villain checks:
Hero Bets: I bet out $150
Villain Calls

Turn:
K 7 2 Q (2 Clubs) pot:~$500

Villain checks, Hero bets out $300, villain tank calls.

River: pot:~$1,100
K 7 2 Q J (runner runner flush and straight)

Villain goes all in for only $185

Hero feels sad lol and tank crying calls.

Villain tables....
.....
....
....
A 10 off for a straight at the river.

Hero could have saved the river call, because never a bluff there especially from old man coffee but the pot was too large imo to fold to a 15-20% pot bet.

What did hero do wrong? What did hero do right?

  1. Maybe put him all-in on the turn... But even then.... Probably same result. I think you played it fine

  2. Not much you can do, that’s an awful call preflop, post flop, and turn by opponent

  3. I agree with a turn shove. He TANKED called turn when he had a decision with $185 behind meaning he put that in his decision making of what he would have left if he missed river and had to fold. He would just reload on top of his $185. If you shoved turn, he would've had a harder time calling off all his chips....IMOI agree with a turn shove. 4. That’s a text book pocket Aces destroyer , top to bottom. It was doomed on the flop and just got worse.
Hero couldn’t chase old man coffee away and old man coffee didn’t have to put in anything cuz pocket Aces was doing it for him.
Old man coffee had trips or 2 pair at worst and a flush or a straight at best. Pocket Aces didn’t have a chance here. A pre flop shove might have sent him packing but I think he hit trips on the flop. In short, he was gona call with his (7’s )no matter what.
