Las Vegas: CALL to check tourney status during WSOP

We at Poker Atlas are committed to bringing you the most updated tournament information possible, including the ever-changing schedules in Las Vegas during the World Series of Poker.

However, due to the chaos of the past 3 days, several rooms have been forced to cancel tourneys on very short notice due to running out of tables and/or dealers.

Most daily deep stacks at Rio were canceled over the past 2 days due to oversubscribed fields in bracelet events. MGM Grand's 10pm nightly was canceled Monday due to a full room of cash games, and Bally's 11pm nightly was canceled Monday due to a record number entries in its 8pm tourney, causing a shortage of tables.

No room wants to turn away customers, but the massive number of players currently in the city for the 50th anniversary of the WSOP, coupled with an overwhelming demand for cash games has forced some to do that, and not by choice.

To save yourself time and potential headaches, please call ahead to confirm that a tournament is still being held as scheduled (our app provides phone numbers for every poker room in the city).

  1. UPDATE: a call to MGM earlier tonight yielded the following response from a floor person: “We’ve been so busy with cash games that the 2, 7 and 10pm tournaments have been cancelled the past 4 days (no tables).”

  2. @Scooter Mandalay Bay cancelled their 10pm Tuesday night due to the same issue.

  3. @Scooter UPDATE: Flamingo's 4pm and 8pm tourneys cancelled on Wednesday.

  4. @Scooter Flamingo, Mirage and MGM have been consistently packed with cash games this week, so my impression is that most of their respective afternoon and evening tournaments will be cancelled regularly until most of the big WSOP events are over.
