Good morning.I visit Vegas from Ireland usually twice a year.I play 1/2 NLH, normally at the Mirage, and perhaps one $100 tournament per day.Ive been breaking even for around seven years now,and fully enjoying the atmosphere and general company. Can anyone advise another similar room? Or am I better off staying in the familiar surrounds of the Mirage? PS.......I travel around the strip for the daily tournaments, averaging $100 buy in.Thank you for any advise or assistance.Artie D,

  1. @robvegaspoker Thank you Rob. 1/3 suits me fine,as I was actually considering moving up to 2/5 this summer. I've no false illusions, and realise that the step up from a softer level won't be easy. Regarding the Aria $125 daily game,I firmly believe it's the best structured low entry tournament on the strip. The Mirage $75 and $120 games owe me nothing, but I felt very comfortable and optimistic in the Aria environment. Hopefully we can both show a profit at whatever spread we play this year Rob. Once again thank you. I've been playing in Ireland since junior school, and at 57 I'm still learning, and always welcome positive advice.

  2. if you aren't quite ready for 2/5 but want to move up from 1/2, play the 1/3NL game at
    the Wynn.

  3. @zzyzx Thank you zzyzx. I appreciate all advice on the long rocky road to variance free profit

  4. I always enjoy the Mirage so that is a good place to have as a home base. However, don't be afraid to venture out. The Venentian, Harrah's and the Quad just across the street and the Wynn and Ballys are just a little bit farther.

  5. I recall back in 2010,that playing $1/2 for four hours entitled you to a $15 food voucher from the brush. Last year in the Monte Carlo,I inquired about this, and was met with blank looks. Does this policy still exist on the strip poker rooms. I'd played 56 hours poker in 6 days, and was informed that my M card had accumulated less than $5 in comps!!! Any advice is welcomed

  9. @Gamin Thank you. Is it true that $1/2 at Planet Hollywood can be quite soft?
