Access to WSOP.com via mobile hotspot

I'm in Henderson for a few weeks and want to play online while here. I'm trying to play via my Verizon and AT&T hotspots, but when when I try and access WSOP.com from them I get this message

"Your mobile device appears to be located outside of NV, which means you cannot play for real money with us at this time. If you are in NV, you may be located in a poor reception zone. Make sure your phone is connected to a network provider with GPS enabled."

Both devices are showing full bars of 4G and GPS is enabled. Anyone have a clue what is going on? Thanks in advance.

  1. I used to have the same problem with my AT&T 4G LTE iPhone, because of the LTE. But for whatever reason, LTE needs to be disabled in order for their location detection to work correctly (this can be done in "Settings > Cellular" on the iPhone).

Perhaps this is the same thing happening to your Verizon hotspot? Try it and let us know. I'm sure MANY people are having similar problems.

  2. I believe you need to go through the location verification process not connected to wifi or mobile hotspot, as mobile hotspots are often registered out of the state. Once WSOP can verify through your phone that you are located in the state of Nevada, you can then access your account from your PC (currently no mobile or iPad capability) and you should then be able to play without issue.

Here is a link to a quick tutorial on the entire setup process, jump to mobile verification section: http://www.pokeratlas.com/online-poker-room/wsop-com-nevada/sign-up-and-deposit

    Hope this helps!

  3. @JonFriedberg hmm don't see a way to disable LTE on my MotoX - I'll look into this. Thanks!

  4. @Jamie I'll give this a try - thanks!
