I was a regular for a few years, until their staff member stole money from the tournament prize pool, and the owner covered it up.
I noticed the prize pool was short and asked a different staff member to look into it later. He looked into it, verified I was correct and texted me about it. I was told the owner would work out how to make it right, but instead, he stalled, deleted camera footage, and then, when I eventually reported it to the CA DOJ, he denied everything. I have photographic proof of what the prize pool should have been, because I took a photo of the final 2 chip stacks, from which you can calculate all the buyins, but the DOJ guy told me that, while they're investigating other irregularities based on my report, my only solution is to sue in small claims, which is obviously not worth my time.
Before this, I was ok to overlook how disgusting the place is, because it was local, and I'd gotten to know some of the players and staff, but now, not a chance would I subject myself to the place.
