The title is putting it light in all honesty. This was my first time playing at their new room since they switched over. Just a plain awful location for a variety of reasons. Yes I understand it was busy because of their series but the old room was MUCH more accommodating even when there was a big series in town and just better in every way.
Reason #1: The new room is WAY too small. The old room was a bit tight with 16 tables but still very easy to navigate and manage. This new room is tiny and cramped. You're basically sitting on each others laps the entire time.
Reason #2: The new room has a bad odor to it unfortunately. This is surprising considering this is at a very nice MGM property that prides itself on avoiding gross issues like this. However it's unfortunately true. The reason for this is because of the seafood buffet right next door, combined with the heat, combined with the smoke, combined with the sweat and must of so many bodies being tucked so tightly together leads to a foul odor that takes awhile to get used to.
Reason #3: the new room is way too hot. This is probably due to the smoke and amount of bodies they cram into one space. It makes for a very uncomfortable playing experience. You can see various people visibly sweating. Not ideal for a poker environment.
To be clear the dealers and staff are still top notch and some of the friendliest and best at their jobs. This one star review is directed primarily at whatever people were in charge of choosing this location as their new room. I'm sure it was for money reasons. But I can tell you that you really screwed everyone over that loved playing poker at your casino. It's a shame you're forcing your excellency staff and dealers to work in an environment like that and you should really be embarrassed of yourselves. I can't overstate enough how disappointed I was in this once great room.
