The ambiance is very nice, as is the quality of the tables and chairs. The tables are packed a little tight, which makes it difficult to move (both for players and waitresses), and it seems like they have the floorspace to spread them a little wider, which is confusing.
This is where the pros play, mostly because it's the only place that consistently runs games over 10/20. To that end, if you play 5/10 nl or higher, or 15/30+ limit, you're going to face some tougher opponents.
The dealers were excellent, but mostly devoid of personality. As I understand it, this is how management wants it...but I don't prefer it as a player.
The waitresses were average both in speed and looks. Nothing to brag or complain about here.
I REALLY want to give a 1.5 here. I come to the Bellagio fairly frequently (as mentioned, they're one of the few places for high limit), and depending on who's working, I have completely different experiences. I'd estimate it goes something like this:
70%: Lists are full and podium just wants me out of their way.
20%: Lists are full and podium tries to accomodate me as best they can.
10%: Podium is very helpful with regards to anything I need (lists, placement, etc.)
It's that 10% positive experience that keeps Bellagio from getting a 1 here.
My biggest complaint is the same as everyone else's...the paper lists. But, despite having the dealers and the tables, new games are never opened. At any other poker room, if you have 25 people wanting to play a game, they'll run 2 games and a 5-man wait list. Bellagio will run one game and a 15-man wait list. But the fact that it's not electronic makes it all the worse.
There are no comps that I'm aware of short of 30/60 limit and higher. I've played all weekend at 15/30 limit and gotten nothing.
