The poker room is simply a walled-off section of the casino. Obviously, it's not very nice. However, the chairs weren't uncomfortable, and that counts for something.
This is the main draw of Excalibur. If you've never played live poker and you're nervous about finally sitting at a table (like I was), think of this room as training wheels. The play is casual and the competition is incredibly soft...and usually inebriated. If you wait for the nuts and don't put in too much money in pre-flop, you'll laugh soon be laughing at how silly it was to be intimidated by a live room.
The dealers I encountered were friendly, funny, and competent. Considering the cluelessness of the average player in the 1-2 NL game I played in, that's pretty impressive.
Cocktail service pretty prompt. The waitress I had was a friendly and somewhat cute Asian MILF. Not great quality drinks, but hey...it's the Excalibur. No complaints.
Didn't have too much dealing with management, but the little I did was easy and helpful.
There's a nice wheel you can spin if your pocket aces are broken. I also believe they have some nice comps during NFL Sundays.
