A pretty little enclave in the middle of the casino. No smoking, but smoke still gets in from outside. The actual tables were of very good quality, which matters to me.
The Excalibur used to be a bastion of poker mediocrity. Now, however, there are enough solid players that it's about like everyone else.
The dealer who had our table at the beginning of the tournament gave an explanation of the rules that went beyond thoughtful into loving. Subsequent dealers were less awe-inspiring, but I was still glad to have them back after the notorious "video poker" experiment.
A little lackluster in the personality department, but she could handle a tray loaded with 20 drink orders at once. That deserves mention.
The management was extremely friendly and available. I felt a little negligent for not having any more for them to do than I did.
No comps for tournaments, and I didn't check for cash games. Thus I give a neutral rating on the point.
