The room was clearly added recently. It is not in space designed for a poker room, but it has plenty of room.
Most of the players are tourists and I suspect they were staying at the Flamingo (as was I). The most popular game was the NL 1-2 blinds game that was always running.
During the [week] day there would usually be only 2 or 3 tables running. In the evenings there would be more games. The 4/8 is the highest limit they offer and it only runs at night.
There is a Wheel of Fortune slot nearby and you get notified whenever one of the guests receives a free spin.
There is a popular tournament each day at 6:00. $50 buy-in with no rebuys. They only run 3 tables so it fills up fast. If you want to play in this tournament you need to sign up when they open it up at 4:00. The tournament is a crap shoot due to the blind structure. You start with 1,000 or 1,500 in chips and the blinds start at 25-50 and go up quickly. Tournament only takes a couple of hours but the luck factor is very high.
I played the 1/2 NL game during a weekday. The players were generally competent but too loose for a NL game. Big raises were routinely called. To me the players played fairly correctly for a limit game, but did not make the proper adjustments to NL.
This is a newer room so they don't have the most experienced dealers, but there were no problems when I played.
They came around at regualr intervals. From what I could see they didn't have anyone specifically assigned to the poker room, which makes sense since there were only about 20 people playing when I was there.
Seemed to run fine for a new room.
I forgot to give them my card the day I played, but I think there is a small hourly comp of $1 or $2.
