The room at Mandalay Bay is understated, but just big enough to get a good game going. Usually there are more than one no limit ($200 min/max buy in) games running plus 4/8 limit. The faces stay the same (managers, dealers, etc) and they are genuinely nice
I have found the players to be very easy...generally it is easy to grind out wins over a night because you will have your share of drunk men with a bit of cash to waste. I have found them to be amicable losers. Be careful after around 2:00 a.m. because the dealers at other casinos play this room after their shift to make some money (does this tell you about the competition?)
Generally, the dealers are consistent,friendly, and professional. There are a couple who are just doing their time and are probably best to retire...plus, the dealers in the tourneys seem very unhappy to be there...no tips every hand.
Being a woman, the attractiveness of the waitresses is irrelevant, but they are certainly nice looking. On the matter of service, they are very slow and often quite rude. It can take 45 minutes to get a drink, which is frustrating when you are counting on them to keep the buzz on your competition.
Terrific management. They are friendly, make good poker calls, regardless of whether or not the decision is popular, and remember the names and faces of regulars.
They do have a poker room rate if you play 5 hours ($115 during the week I think). I am not sure about any other comps for food, etc., but don't think there are any. Player cards are not used in the poker room.
