I thought the overall quality of the poker room at Mandalay was very good. It was a little small, but adjacent to the sports book and close to a deli for food. I played early in the morning so it wasn't very crowded, but I bet it would have been packed later in the evening. The one thing I was displeased with was the actual playing chips. They did not have denominations on them, but the $10 and the $100 were very similar in color. One was brown and the other was purple and you had to hold them next to one another to distinguish them apart. Even the dealer said they were easily confused.
Since it was a low entry fee, there were very many beginners. I did not have a hard time making the final table.
The dealers were older and I found them to be very personable.
Waitresses came around quite often to make sure everyone was taken care of. They were attractive and very polite.
Not much to compare it to, but I thought the room was well mananged. I did not exactly like the format of the tournament that I played in. It was limit for the first 4 rounds and then changed into a no-limit game.
I did not notice any comps during my playing time there.
