Note: I'm sort of biased toward this room, since it's been my mainstay since I started playing in Vegas in '06 and we usually stay there for the pool. This room is much improved from last summer. Elimination of tables makes it much roomier. Tables were being measured this weekend (Aug 23), so new felt in the works? Lots of action at the low limits, even fishier than usual.
First few sessions were losing, since I've had no live poker in 10+ months, and was way overanxious to play. Once I settled down and became remotely selective picking cards, the 3-6 became an atm, and the 4-8 was nearly as profitable.
Usual mixed bag of dealers---a few very good to excellent (Mark and the young guy from LA whose name I can't recall) being excellent, Paul begin belligerent, combative, and mistake-prone. In fact, I took a break when he dealt my table, as he seemed to be involved in every occurrence of raised voices and bad vibes I experienced and saw over 5 days.
Hit-and-miss, depending on time of day. After sitting for three days straight, drinks came quickly and regularly.
WAY improved from last year. Brush was always present, seating was quick, lists were well managed, and no problems with table changes, etc. A pleasant surprise.
Not a problem at all. The new system to swipe in (but not out, yet) is in place. Instead of negotiating/begging for a comp, your card is swiped, and they now give a $15 credit good for BLT, Carnegie, Caribe, and the buffet. I received a comp for every day I was there, even when I hadn't played more than 3-4 hours. My wife got one with 3 hours play. This may change when (if) they begin clocking players out instead of just in.
