The room hasn't changed in appearance at all, but it was certainly less business during the 1st week of October. Most mornings, there was no game. In the afternoon, it might have been 2. Night time did pick back up (usually about 4-5 tables), but all 1-2 NL and 3-6 Limit. The 2-5 NL, 4-8 limit, 5-10 limit, 1-2 PLO & 3-6 stud just aren't there. The 7pm tournament during the week average 22-25 people...the weekend slightly more. The Saturday night & Sunday afternoon were bounty tournaments (out of 80 buy-in, 25 goes to bounty).
It was a mix of competition. Most pots were not raised preflop (very rarely saw 3-bet bluffs, preflop)...so a little too easy to see flops (which I like), but a bunch of people seemed capable of firing on every street w/out hitting when they did bet. A few of the older gentleman (i.e. locals) were the most aggressive.
Seemed to always make the right call and have good jokes. By far, much funner playing here than any of my previous trips (that goes to Dealers & players alike).
Cocktails always came correct...but if if wasn't between 7pm and 2am, it seemed to take a long time to get them. I don't remember them bringing shots before, but they did for me this trip.
Management was friendly and always seemed on top of their game (managing cash & tournaments). They no longer run the cashiers cage...all transactions are done at the main desk.
Still $1 per hour. Big thing I found out is they only keep a record of the past 7 days, so use the comps before you leave.
