In the no limit game you can straddle in any position. Not much fun when you finally get the button and the guy on your right straddles.
You can even straddle on your big blind, which only increases the size of the game and you're still in the worst position. Dumbest thing I ever saw.
It creates action along with a mandatory blind on the button but gives an edge to gamblers over grinders
