Had a fairly strange experience here, but I'm still giving 5 stars even though I never got to play poker. This casino is located in the STICKS. Not necessarily surprised to find a casino at the location, but definitely was surprised to find one this big and nice. The property is HUGE and is beautiful. So nice. You could put this property on the strip and nobody would blink an eye. Fountains, art, design, you name it. The restaurants looked top notch, as did the shops. Hotel was very reasonably priced, but I am still a little confused as to how a hotel of this size fills up there, but I assume it does. Just not on the day I visited. The poker room is in the Pearl River Casino, but I believe there is an even larger connected casino across the street (with a sky bridge). So it is possible the other side was busier, but Pearl River was not.
I showed up at ~11pm on a random Wednesday in December and it was a ghost town. Maybe 30 people total. As soon as I walked in I asked where the poker room was. An employee said there wasn't any games that evening, but when I asked if it was closed, another employee overheard and said "oh it's open. There just isn't anyone up there" and pointed to the poker room. Sure enough it was open, complete with a host and waiting list screens. There just wasn't anyone there. I would love to play there on a bust day though. Looked like they had ~20 tables there All of them looked brand new with nice, comfy chairs and surrounded by TV screens. Kudos to them for actually sticking to their posted hours and being ready to start a game at any moment.
I definitely will try and make it out here again, and suggest everyone else to give them a visit. Just maybe call ahead of time to see what games are going lol.
