The Dogtrack is easy to get to, generally good games. I moved to Alabama from Iowa. There is almost always at least a couple of games going. Weekends are obviously busier. There are some wild players and Big O and the No Max buy in games can play really high. Well.....Generally to high for me.
Most of the staff is friendly. The place itself is a dive, looks like a correctional facility first time I pulled into the lot. Not impressive, but I do feel safe there. A police officer is generally parked out front at night.
They rake $5 and $2 for the jackpot/promotions. I have won lots of entries into tournaments there, numerous small cash prizes and normal swag.
Personally I think they should pay comp credit all the time, Sunday through Tuesday is silly. Most of the jackpot seems to be given back to players through the small prizes. The Bad Beat does not get very high.
Overall I like the room and it being 30 min from my house compared to about 2 hours to Biloxi.
