Here is the thing .. poker players are a tough group in the review streets. This room is getting a bad rep on here and it is not fair.
First - obviously the rake and the comp situation is terrible , but that has NOTHING to do when the people running the room . This is a company decision , and Great Canadian has clearly drawn their line in the sand. It sucks but it is what is. If you choose to play here, you should not whine about it.
The room itself.. I have been playing poker for 25 years.. cannot compare to Vegas, but this is one of the , if not the nicest rooms I have played in. It has its own floor in the hotel with not an annoying slot machine in sight or ear shot. It has its own bar with good service, washrooms super close, and good food options to the table.
The guys running the room this past weekend were nice, and on point with a large list and seating people fast and in the right manner. IE giving priority to people that are actually there with chips instead of calling people who have left 3 times and wasting 15 minutes.
As far as the games... the 20-40 1/2 kill limit Omaha game is crazy good action. The 1-3 games were very soft on this past weekend. The dealers .. they are slow but generally nice.
Overall this room is very nice and well run.
