You can feel how low morale at the club is since the ownership refused to pay a hit bad beat jackpot (again). I feel bad for the dealers and employees at the club. I think individually most of them want to be associated with an honest room that puts out a good product. But as the face of the club they end up dealing with the complaints and accusations on issues they don't have control over, and it's obviously wearing on them. I saw a normally good-natured dealer fighting with players at the table tonight over non-issues. They're obviously stressed and worn out.
And the club hasn't used the recent fiasco as an opportunity to improve. It seems to be the opposite instead. The bad beat drop for the bomb pot games has increased to $5/hand. A player questioned tonight why that jackpot had only increased $600 over the past few days, while the game ran for over 30 hours. The math continues to not add up.
Jackpot policies still don't make sense. For the regular jackpot the $2 drop is taken at $20, but the promotions require the pot to be $50 to trigger. People are disqualified from winning promotions, not just when they begin a hand with their time in the red (negative), but also when it is in the orange or yellow (simply getting low). The bad beat jackpot has stayed at a fixed 100k and does not increase despite not being hit (successfully) for years.
SAPP has potential. It's a physically nice, welcoming club with some excellent dealers and staff, but with its integrity in question it makes it hard to have a good time or want to support them any more.
