I stopped in Shuffle 214 despite some of the reviews. I will say I should have listened to the reviews. I walked in the door. There are 4 or 5 employees talking and laughing none even acknowledging someone walking through the door. There was one girl at the counter that was actually working. After she was done helping another employee do his job she took my ID and got my membership taken care of thanked me then went back to helping other employees with whatever they didn't seem to know how to do. I walked around a little so I could figure out how the place worked. I found the restroom. The other reviews were right the restroom was dirty despite the checklist on the wall. All the tables are on the right side of the space. On the left side they had a small table with a crockpot, some napkins and miscellaneous items. I don't know maybe they do a potluck meal or something. There were probably 40 or 50 chairs piled all over this area. They did have a vending machine that was 3/4 empty if you got hungry and a couple of coke machines, I didn't bother to see if they had anything in them. I sat down at one of the many empty tables looking to see where to get a table or on a waiting list. I sat there for about 25 mins. I decided nobody was going to ask if i needed anything. Which I guess I could see since what looked like was management were busy having what had to been a very funny conversation amongst themselves. I went to the cashier. There was one guy behind the counter. He was sitting behind the sign that said next window please. So I waited until the other employee came back from wherever he was then I went ahead and got my chips. Then asked if there was an open table. He informed me that there was not any tables with open seats. I asked if I could have the next available seat that comes available. He asked for which game. I told him whatever cone available would be fine. The proceeded to tell me he needed to know which specific game so I could be put on the list. I was ready to leave at this point. I didn't want to leave without at least a few hands. Maybe the dealers would make up for the rest of the place. I finally got called for a 1/2 nhl game. My first impression of the table didn't make me anymore optimistic. The table was filthy it looked like a table I would have in my shop playing with my mechanic friends if the sink didn't work. The chair felt like they had taken half the padding out of it. The first dealer was very nice, funny and interacted very well with the players. The second dealer Cam i think was his name was rude and acted like he would rather be anywhere else but there. He allowed some random guy that apparently knew a few people at the table to just have a seat as he was walking by. Which is fine but the guy sits down with a stack of $100 black chips at a $300 max buy in table the dealers says nothing. The first hand the new guy is in him and the hispanic gentleman next to him start conversing in Spanish after i had raised he reraised only to have the guy he was speaking Spanish to fold his hand. This happened 2 times before the dealer change. At this point I can only assume this is standard practice at this place. The 3rd dealer sits down. Now there are 3 guys at one end of the table speaking Spanish to each other and two asian people at the other end speaking to each other in a language other than English. I look at the dealer and I said "Really? What @#$% is that?" He knew exactly to what I was referring. He looked at me like eh nothing i can do and shrugged his shoulders. At this point I had had enough. I racked up my chips waited in the single file line at the cashier. I stood watching the two people behind the window talk back and forth for 10 mins until I finally got cashed out. I don't usually leave reviews especially if they are not positive. I understand sometimes employees could be having a bad day or a place is making changes to the room. As far as I can tell that is not the case for SHUFFLE 214. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. I have been to poker games in the back rooms of bars that look like Palace Poker compared to this dump. I wont be back my advice is don't waste your time with this place when there are A LOT of good poker rooms around.
