I was playing at Bay 101 the other day reading Card Player and saw an ad for Stones. I was surprised because I never heard of it and it looked like a beautiful place. I checked PokerAtlas and made my way to their morning tournament; I was completely blown away.
If I had to design and open a card room this is EXACTLY what it would be. The place is extremely classy and well-kept. For the poker chip nerds out there (like me) they are using Paulson RHC chips for their tournament and cash game (exceptional chips). The food and beverage available is great and the staff was very helpful in getting me registered to play.
I'm obviously not a regular so they explained to me they do require a tournament players card which they will provide to you onsite for free. The entire game was so enjoyable and I contribute a lot of that to their chairs. The chairs here are all leather and super plush. I've never played at any casino with such comfort.
I know I'm churching this up a lot but this place deserves it. After playing here for a few hours you will get the feeling that you matter to the owners/staff; you will feel important. That is a pretty rare thing in a card room (especially in California).
Overall, the best place I've ever played poker. Despite the 2 hour drive, I will likely be a weekend tournament regular.
