Its nice and clean, the tables have a good amount of space. Its a tight room, which is good, considering I play at Commerce and Hawaiian Gardens in Southern California. Only maybe eight tables. Right next to a bar and sports book, and Starbucks (for us non-drinkers) right across the way. Good stuff. It was quiet in there as well.
I played in the 9am tournamanet, and only had to drag three or four pots to make it to 4th place. I definitely should have won that one, but when it got down to 6 handed, it became a crapshoot, and i just wasnt getting the cards, was pretty much blinded out. Didnt get paid, as only 21 people entered and the top three chopped (two were to get paid). Lots of people that just walked by and decided to "Try that thing on ESPN" in the tourney. Good stuff.
Before the tourney, around 7:30am I played some 1-2 NL games, and despite one real bad beat, came out pretty good. The guys I sat with had been there all night and had a minimum of 500 in chips, I decided to play short handed (four) with them with only 100 in chips, played tight, and made money. They knew what they were doing. Played some Limit 2-4 with guys who were a little less than good.
The dealers were great, each of them was in a good mood and kept the games moving nicely. They all had good things to say, even when it was slow in the room and they were obviously a bit bored.
I just drink water and tea and it came real fast. good stuff.
These guys were great, good attitudes, kept the tourney well organized. Kept the updates coming on the big flat screens they had all over the room.
HIGH HAND JACKPOTS! I hit quad threes in Limit and made an extra 86 bucks. They also had a raffle for an extra $200 in chips if you hung out and played for an hour after the tournament ended. Id rather have this kind of stuff than a free sandwich at 4am!
