Comfortable chairs with wide seats and padded backs. New green felt on tabletops (with commitment line) replaced old blue stuff. Tables have been rearranged slightly so it doesn't seem so crowded. "Room" is just a roped off area on the way to the buffet. A few slots nearby. Cookies and sandwiches available depending on the time of day. Self service coffee and bottled water so you don't have to wait for a waitress. Overall a very unintimidating room that is comfortable for beginners.
Playing in the 2-4 game, 6 or 7 players routinely saw a flop. Sometimes more. With so many people in each hand, pot odds almost dictate that you call with anything above average. When you catch cards, you can get paid off nicely. You can also get sucked out by someone in 4th position who called a raise pre-flop with 10-6 suited. Hypothetically, of course.
Overall, very friendly. Some more talkative than others, but no one seemed upset to be there. I would guess a card was accidentally exposed about every 2 hours. Never saw any situations where they tried to pay the wrong player.
Some hotties, some average. Pretty attentive at busy times.
The Hawaiian shirt didn't exactly scream "class" but at least you knew who was in charge. It added to the overall casual feel of the room. Friendly and ran a good list. Added tables when appropriate.
Can't beat the $3/hour.
