The IP room is OK. Somewhat noisey, as it is not an enclosed room and near the casino. The tables a really large, which can make it difficult to see the community cards (but you have a lot of space). One key point is that the IP is a very cheap place to stay, so the tourist will be young kids and tourist on a budget. You may run into some scarey looking people here.
I have played at the IP about 4 times. Overall, I would rate the competition as average to somewhat easy. You will find a mix of locals (because of the good comps), and budget minded tourist. From my experience, there are more agressive players here.
I have played in about 15 rooms and the IP dealers are by far the worse! One dealers turned over my cards after I bet and won the hand without a call. A player asked if the actually had a straight, I said yes and the dealer actually turned my cards over. Unreal! I also encountered two other dealers that was totally rude. IP dealers are unprofessional, sloppy, rude, and have zero personality.
On a Sunday afternoon I played for over an hour without cocktail service. I went to the bar (which is in the poker room) and they said I would have to pay for a drink even thoough I was playing (in order to be free the waitress needs to delivery the drink). My other experiences at the IP I found the cocktail service to be average to below average.
I haven't had a lot interaction with the IP management. The lady I dealt with seemed friendly and somewhat attentive.
The $2/hour comps are great. The problem is that you're getting comps for the IP. Still, you can't beat the comps.
