Is by far my favorite room. It is a big open area w/ tons of tables, and easy on the eyes. Location is great (by one of the main doors, w/ a quick 30 sec walk to the restroom). Only downside for me: seems to be one of the more uptight crowds. I seemed to have much more fun at every other location (likely b/c there are lots of real players here).
I've always remembered the Venetian as having tough competition. The 1-2 NL saw a lot more limped pots than I remember, but that seemed to be the situation everyone (maybe WSOP & WPT side action is gone abroad). At that game, I tried very hard to stay out of certain peoples way unless I had good position (saw many good calls and well-timed bluffs). The tournament is by far the best. Even during a "down time" for poker in Vegas, they still had about 120 people for their noon tourney (on a Wednesday). At 150 buy-in, I think 1st was around 4k. Play was very aggressive for 7500 in chips and 25-50 / 50-100 blinds in the beginning (saw several 1k, 2k bets and a few all ins).
Only had 1 dealer mess up (3 hands in about 15 minutes). Other than her bad day, everything was good. No where near as fun as the dealers at the Mirage & Bellagio.
Good drinks, but similar story w/ Mirage: seemed to take a bit to get out there. The waitresses were significantly hotter though.
They had to manage a large amount of tables, so I was happy that they would stop and listen to any question I had. There is separate management for tournaments...which they don't allow observes (LOVE!).
I always swiped in, but never asked what I was getting.
