The poker room at the Wynn was just like everything else at the Wynn; Classy. My only complaint would be the chairs. I just couldn't seem to get comfortable in those chairs. The Venetian has much more comfortable chairs in my opinion.
Lots of locals were there the two nights I played. I played 2-5 no limit and there were 2-3 people at each table that you just didn't want to screw with much unless you had the nuts. There were also a good amount of tourists there that just wanted a good time to even out the good local players.
I had some good sessions and went home up about 3000. My whole trip was made when someone put me all-in pre-flop when I had the rockets (He had pockets 8s of all things.) I just sort of coasted after that.
As has been mentioned the scene at the Wynn turns to very much a local joint as the night goes on. I was amazed at how average or downright bad some of these locals were. There were some who were very good as mentioned, but about half of them were about as good as your regular convetioneer, but think they're a regular Amarillo Slim which makes for some great action.
Nary a flaw from any of the dealers there. All of them were friendly, but not obtrusive talking about their kids, career, dog etc without end.
One of the best features of this room are the 2-3 waitresses that waltz in and out of the room. The Wynn waitresses are truly a treat to behold. They definitely add to the experience. Oh yeah, they were efficient and friendly to boot.
I don't drink when I play, but I can tell you that their strawberry julius is one fine drink.
No complaints. They were friendly and very accommodating.
It was the same as any other place without any frills.
