The progressive system slows down the game a lot

The progressive system at the table is slowing down a lot. The 1/3 stakes are not great—many players are buying in with short stacks of $100, and it’s a very loose and passive game. This makes it beatable by playing a tight range pre-flop.

The 2/5 stakes are decent, but the progressive aspect of the game is pretty terrible. You have players consistently putting in $5 for every hand, and while they might occasionally hit something, the overall showdowns lead to poor play. Whenever there’s a possible straight, flush, or suited AKQ, the dealer ends up calling the floor after finishing the hand. Now, we have to wait for the floor to make a decision.

The good news is that you won't find any sharks at the 2/5 table—all players are fish. However, I've noticed that some of the locals are buying in for amounts larger than what is allowed. I think they may eventually increase the maximum buy-in or even make the game uncapped.
