Cascades Poker Room - average at best

Cascades Poker Room is an interesting place. Interesting in the sense that it is small, has very juicy cash games on weekends and regular sub-par tournaments. The cash games are full of fish - many of the regulars there are average skilled players and the games are crazy at times: be prepared for bad beats! The tournaments are poor - the structure is bad, the rake on the tourneys is high and the quality of dealers is very low. More often than not dealers are miserable, rude and poorly skilled. Calculating pot sizes can be challenging - all stacks that are all-in are counted time after time without question, they pay minimal attention to what is going on and are inconsistent with rule enforcement (often challenging newcomers to not use phones for example when regulars are using them all the time). They are even as bad to rabbit hunt at player's requests (during tournaments). Unless you can handle the consistent lack of professionalism from the dealers, expect sub-standard service from them. Granted, there are a couple who are good but the majority are poor.
Overall - unless there's nowhere else to play, take a deep breath and ready yourself for bad beats and crappy dealing during either the donkfest tournaments or the insane cash games. The verdict I offer to you is find somewhere else to play.
