What a great experience player here for the 1st time. Dealers were the friendliest I've EVER experienced at any card room. Floor was very professional, courteous & helpful. I was amazed at how they knew everyone's names..including mine! 7 spread out tables - plenty of room - nice chairs - nice felt.
THU tourney had 19 runners and one short handed 1-2 cash game going when I got there at 10pm and lasted until 2:25 last hand.
FRI had a full ring 1/2 game going at 11am open and $25 FRI 2pm tourney turbo winner take all had 20ish runners. Three 1/2 cash games going by 6pm and were working down to two at 10pm when I left.
Overall quality of play there is weak. Not afraid to raise pre - plenty of limp /flatters pre. Many non believers at the flop. Ran into a number of HUGE river all-in bluffs when they had nothing and showed...guessing they get ESPN in Northwood, IA.
It is a very nice casino overall, convenient parking. Attached Hotel Comfort Inn & Suites Pool Whirlpool - $49 - free cookies / breakfast / friendly / nice! $69 on weekends (book ahead)
Drink ladies were very friendly with top two unbuttoned.
Burger King & Subway inside Casino. Buffet was $9 and average. Steakhouse inside casino. Clean bathrooms.
Only complaint was cashier desk was understaffed and slow.
Great Job Diamond Jo! Loved it and will be back.
