Obviously the rake is lunacy. At least there's a drink station in the room. But thats probably by accident. They probably didn't put a drink station there for the poker room. Maybe it was always there.
The room seems to be better run because it's smaller and easier to manage. There's 10 tables but they use 8 as of now. I've heard the word "tournaments" being thrown around. But I have zero faith they will be worthwhile.
It's just really sad how bad the gauging is that's going on. The people that frequent these places seem to have zero idea how poorly they are being treated.
In Vegas for half the rake you get free drinks, comps for food, and if you play enough you can get rooms for really cheap where it becomes worth it to just fly down there than drive across the street to woodbine or Mohawk. Not to mention it's Vegas and the vibe is amazing. It's pretty embarrassing what's going on here.
But on an Ontario scale. Mohawk isnt too bad.
On a Vegas scale? Mohawk woodbine brantford are total dump disgusting wastelands. It's really impossible to stress enough how much of a disgrace these places are and what GCG is getting away with.
It's really a shame what they have done. It's emblematic of what Canada is today.
