Profitable, but poorly run room

The room is unclosed and wide open so it was subject to all the normal casino noise and unfortunately all the smokers second hand smoke. The smoke at times was unbearable. We had 4-5 players at our table complaining about it at each table I sat at.

They had a total of 1 big screen, 2 small TVs, and 1 kitchen sized TV for the NFL this past Sunday. 3 of the TVs were all on the same game.

The table overall were pretty nice as far as felt and I didn't feel cramped at a full table. It is also a pretty small room so wait lists can vary dramatically.

It may have been the time of year, but the people attending either had money they wanted to burn, or would not believe any large bet. An example was a guy who called a $100 bet in $1/2 NL game with a board of A, K, K, 5, 5 with a pair of Queens. And this was AFTER the $100 bet was called by another player. I counted maybe 7-8 locals which further told me the room was not a quality one.

In the 20 hours or so I played in the room, I only saw 2-3 misdeals and a pot being sent to the wrong player. They were fairly quick and accurate. A couple dealers patience ran way too low when the players were asking some questions about who raised from the other end. Also, one dealer snapped at me when I asked if the man who missed his blind had posted or not. He said, "We are taking care of it." I said, "That doesn't answer my question. I would like to know how much is in the pot and if he has any money invested in the hand." The dealer then gave a glare and said, "I told you... We are taking care of it."

Did they have cocktails? The dealer told me that they make so little money on this room that they only assign one girl for the 12 tables in the room. She maybe came by hourly. I felt bad for the girl, but it was really pathetic.

I don't know too much about management, but they seemed to mishandle the tables as often times we had 5-6 seats open with a wait list of 12 to get in. Dealers also constantly ripped the new management.

They gave $5 food coupons, but they are only good at the expensive buffet and the cafe which is not so good. They did however have high hand jackpots which was nice. One woman won two high hands within 24 hours and got $1,700.
