I write an annual review of the poker rooms I frequent.
So I have played at the Pickering poker room for over a year.
Let's get the biggest issue out of the way. 10% up to $20 max rake is insane and slowly killing the game. No comps either.
As I mentioned in my previous review. The room is really nice because it was initially suppose to be the VIP high limit room.
Some of the best brush you will encounter. Chaz and Mark at night. Chris on the morning. Nole. Simone and Jess on the afternoon. Amazing brush. Debbie is okay and friendly.
Now on to the dealers. 35% are good. Daniel, Larry, Laura, Joyce, Janice, Jess. Nada, Nick, Mark, Todd, Jo, Gregory. I'm missing some guys at night because I don't play at night often. Emily is decent.
25% are average
Then 40% are really bad, as management I would be embarrassed having them out dealing. It's not like the CNE where they are new and there for 6 weeks. These dealers are here all the time.
Wanda decided not to deal because she threw a hissy fit because she doesn't know who can buy the puck and an existing player that changes tables needs to post. She got angry and refused to deal, so we waited 6 mins in silence at the table until someone replaced her.
Patrick tells players not to rush him because a player busted out and we wanted to play four handed. He wanted to wait until the player decided to buying again and started putting his fingers in players faces telling people not to rush him and a guy called him an @#$% for that and then I say they are both out of line and he starts sticking his finger in my face. Decides not to deal anymore.
I'm not sure how some of these dealers passed and how management regardless of union still puts these dealers put. Really embarrassing. Some are still taking on uncalled bets.
Like I said. Pickering poker room has potential but they need to clean a lot of things up.
