Here's what happened at all the New Jersey online poker sites for the week ending 02/09!
The $25,000 Weekly Sunday Guarantee occurred on Feb. 09 with a massive 154 players, a spike from 97 the week before. Since the week before was Super Bowl weekend, it's nice to see a return to form for players with fewer football-related distractions. The buy-in was $200+$15, so it beat the guarantee by $5,800. It was won by Bigcakes1, who got $8,316. Deuxexmachin, who won last week, played again but failed to cash.
The $10,000 Weekly Sunday Guarantee, with a buy-in of $100 + $9, got 159 players, a return to form after the previous Super Bowl week's 90 players. This event beat the guarantee by $5,900. The winner was DrMtg, who got $4,293. Last week's winner, FinessingYou, played but did not cash.
Satellites are already running at WSOP-com this week in both New Jersey and Nevada for this summer's live World Series of Poker events, happening in just a few months.
See below for the major tournament results, as PartyPoker and BorgataPoker share players and all major tournaments. There are separate promotions on each site, so it's still worth playing on both sites, though not at the same time, as the software prevents it.
Here's some big news. bwin.party, the folks behind Party/Borgata in New Jersey, have been listening to player feedback and made some structural changes to the Sunday $50K, and players responded. The Sunday $50K guaranteed on BorgataPoker and PartyPoker, on Feb. 09, had a monstrous 378 players, a colossal increase from 205 players the week before. The buy-in was $185 + $15, so it beat the guarantee by $19,930. This event was won by Papo353, who got a huge $13,286.92. F-350.DRIVER, last week's winner, played but failed to cash.
Even bigger news: to celebrate, March 2nd's guaranteed event on Party and Borgata will be a $100,000 GUARANTEED event for at least one week only. Get in on it!
The Saturday $10K guaranteed, on Feb. 08, got 118 players, a rise from the Super Bowl week before that got 104 players. The buy-in was $91 + $9, so it beat the guarantee by $738. The winner was Thrall, who got $1,670.38. steelmac6774, last week's winner, did not play.
The "Big Sunday" $10,000 Guaranteed event on 888 happened on Feb. 09, with 59 players, a nice jump from last week's and the week before's 44 players. This means that, with a buy-in of $185 + $15, it beat the guarantee by $915. The tournament was won by just4fun912, who got $3,274.50. kingroman, last week's winner, played but didn't cash.
Ultimate Poker runs a $20,000 Sundays guaranteed event. Last week there were 132 players, the most in a few weeks. (The week before was 83 players.) The buy-in is $91 + $9, so the overlay was $7,988. This time, LarryDavid23 won and got $5,830. Ultimate has a recent promotion that will refund your buy-in in tournament dollars for any event that beats the guarantee; despite that, this event will likely have an overlay for some time.
Betfair Poker has not grown enough to have large guaranteed tournaments.
Player Numbers
WSOP-com had a big jump in player population, according to PokerScout, likely due to the frequent satellites into the live World Series of Poker. Party/Borgata also had a rise on their charts. This one's probably due to the structure reworking in their biggest weekly event. On the flip side of the coin, the numbers at Ultimate Poker in New Jersey continue to fall.
