Here's what happened at all the New Jersey online poker sites for the week ending 03/02!
The $25,000 Weekly Sunday Guarantee occurred on Mar. 2 with 171 players. This is a significant increase from 151 players the week before. The buy-in was $200 +$15, so it beat the guarantee by $9,200. It was won by Cheech1828, who got $9,234. Last week's winner, juice, continued his hot streak with a third-place finish here. FuriousGeorg, who won two weeks ago, didn't play this week; the winner before that, Bigcakes1, did play but didn't cash.
The $10,000 Weekly Sunday Guarantee, with a buy-in of $100 + $9, got 124 players, the second straight week of falling numbers. It doesn't seem to be as attractive an option as the $25K event. Still, it beat the guarantee by $2,400. The winner was brownmagic, who got $3,472. Stormheart and Donk_Star, the two previous winners, did not play this week.
Satellites are already running at WSOP-com this week in both New Jersey and Nevada for this summer's live World Series of Poker events, happening in just a couple of months.
See below for the major tournament results, as PartyPoker and BorgataPoker share players and all major tournaments. There are separate promotions on each site, so it's still worth playing on both sites, though not at the same time, as the software prevents it.
The Sunday major at Borgata and Party did something special this past weekend: a $100K Guarantee. As you can imagine, a ton of players showed up for it: 786, to be exact, more than double the usual total. With a buy-in of $185 + $15, it beat even this guarantee by $45,410. This event was won by kobe4prez92, who got an incredible $26,901.18. ayaanabhai, who won last week, played but did not cash.
This event's going back to a $50K Guarantee for now, but expect another promotion like this one in the near future.
The Saturday $10K guaranteed, on Mar. 1, got 127 players, an increase of 2 over the previous week and not near this event's high of 157. The buy-in was $91 + $9, so it beat the guarantee by $1,557. The winner was CANILIVE, who got $1,731.63.
The "Big Sunday" $10,000 Guaranteed event on 888 happened on Mar. 2, with 58 players, the second straight increase for this event (53 and 47 the previous two weeks). This means that, with a buy-in of $185 + $15, it beat the guarantee by $730. The tournament was won by SDSummit, who got $3,219. phatchoy, last week's winner, played but did not cash.
Ultimate Poker runs a $20,000 Sundays guaranteed event. Last week there were 300 players! As the event got closer to the start time, players realized that if the event made the guarantee, then everyone's buy-in would be refunded as tournament dollars as part of the Noverlay promotion. And with a buy-in of $91 + $9, beat the guarantee it did, by $7,300. This is 110 players more than last week and means good things for Ultimate in New Jersey. This time, jakep474 won and got $6,635.
Betfair Poker has not grown enough to have large guaranteed tournaments.
Player Numbers
According to PokerScout, player populations are rising across the board at Party, Borgata, WSOP and Ultimate in New Jersey. It's unable to measure 888's or Betfair's population, but still, good news.
