I've played Borgata three times now, and it is still the premiere room in AC, but I feel like sometimes it gets by on reputation. The tables are somewhat tight and cramped, the dealers are very hit or miss, and I generally feel like just another number to the staff.
Food and drink service is above average, they're generally prompt with orders. It's a good looking room aesthetically, but the TVs need to be bigger and closer to the floor instead of practically mounted in the ceiling. A dealer I had on a Sunday night misdealt two hands in a row, then had a hard time accounting for how many chips were in the pot. Instant table change. You have to buy stacks of $5 chips in $100 increments, which is a very weird rule. I don't like greens, so buying in short meant a few stacks of $1 chips.
I just happened to be in AC during Borgata's WPT World Championship, so the competition was through the roof for me as a casual player. Lot of solid TAG players. Every time I've been, the room is filled with regulars and real solid players, along with a few tourists. It's similar to the Venetian in Vegas in that regard.
There are fewer and fewer options in AC for poker, as Golden Nugget's room is very new, the Taj closed, and there are usually few tables running at Bally's, Harrah's and the Trop. By the scarcity principle, I will probably still play here, as the Borgata itself is orders of magnitude nicer than most of AC, but they need to step up certain aspects of the room.
