I went to San Diego for vacation and looked up local car rooms to play at. Oceans 11 kept popping up, so I drove about 30 minutes north of San Diego to get there. The room was large, full of players and very well kept. The waitresses came around fairly often, but the main draw as with every card room are the fish. I gotta say, there were a ton of bad players here. Calling off $100 or $200 on mid-pair or top-pair no kicker was no problem in the $1/3NL game.
There were hands that I tried to buy to no avail, as usually is the case when players are that bad, but in some cases my bluff was actually the best hand. When you fire 2/3 the pot on the river because your villan was hemming and hawing on every street and they STILL call with top pair no kicker, you've found yourself a profitable game. Have fun, play ABC poker and you should do just fine in the $1/$3NL game.
