Very surprised at what's considered acceptable behavior at this establishment.
Example #1:
Two other players in a large pot. One guy flopped a straight flush and other guy flopped the ace-high flush. Player wins and loudly tells his opponent, "yeah, that's what you get, b*tch!" They didn't know each other, and the dealer said nothing. Most respectable casinos will, at a minimum, kick you out for 24 hours for verbal harassment. But I guess anything goes at Running Aces.
Example #2:
Late night. I just want to relax and get in some hands before heading to my hotel room. One drunk idiot is trying to shame the table into doing straddles, needling anyone who won't oblige. Guy must have also been on some hard stimulants, since his mouth was going a mile a minute with verbal diarrhea. Crying his life story to the table, sharing intimate details of his arrest record, etc. No one wants to hear that nonsense at the poker table. Completely killed the vibe.
Conclusion:
I find the other nearby poker rooms (Canterbury Park and Treasure Island) to have a much more pleasant atmosphere. Running Aces appears to be the dive bar of casinos. They cater to the crumb bums and riff raff.
