I wrote a review back in August of last year glazing the Big Blind for their excellent promos, comps, and management.
Well... about that...
The Big Blind -- the spot in town with the coolest-looking venue -- is an embarrassment. The promos have gone from the best in town to the worst, and they still take a ridiculous $4 "promo drop' -- the highest in town -- despite charging $12/hr -- tied for the highest in town.
They still allegedly give you comp dollars for every hour you play, but you lose them after a few months if you don't use them (WHY???), and they decreased the amount you earn from $3 to $1/hr. Boo.
The high hand promo they run is tough to hit and is largely a scam. I can almost promise you that those $4 they take per hand does NOT go back to the players.
The tournaments are tiny and a snooze-fest if they even get enough players to play in them. The cash tables are very hit or miss, but are usually pretty tight and nitty.
The food is just okay. The dealers are largely solid, but there are a few bad ones mixed in. I've liked those put in management positions throughout the last year, but with all firings and re-organizations conducted by ownership, it is impossible to expect anything from management. I had a ton of hope for this spot last year, but it seems to have fallen flat.
Ownership killed this place. What an absolute shame.
